About Me
My name is Lawrence Obiuwevwi, an engineer and researcher, and I am a PhD student in the Department of Computer Science at Old Dominion University, Virginia . I hold a background in Electrical Engineering from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN). My research interests lie in computer science, human-computer interaction, event modeling, simulation, and predictive analytics—leveraging technology to design impactful solutions.
Currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science, I integrate hardware and software expertise to drive innovation in AI, data analysis, and interdisciplinary research. My work focuses on multimodal data fusion, speech and text processing, and physiological data analysis, with the goal of enhancing human-AI collaboration and team dynamics.
I began working with Dr. Sampath Jayarathna and Dr. Krzysztof Rechowicz in Spring 2024 at NIRDS Lab, WS-DL Research Group, and Storymodelers Lab, within the Virginia Modeling, Analysis & Simulation Center (VMASC).
